Peek at the Week 11-11-18

Good evening Ward Families,

We are excited to welcome parents this week to our “Bring a Parent to P.E Class” Week at Ward. Parents are encouraged to attend P.E. classes with their children to learn about our P.E. program. We hope to see you at Ward!

We have our 5th grade chorus performance this Thursday, November 15th at 6:00 p.m.

Yankee Candle and Cherrydale Fundraisers will be in Thursday, November 15, 2018. Pick up times will be from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This will be the only day for pick up. Please remember some items are perishable and require freezing. We cannot guarantee freezer space at the school so please make arrangements to have your items picked up. Thank you for supporting the Ward Elementary PTA.

Parents, please mark your calendar and inform grandparents that our Grandparents’ Day is November 20th. We will be sending letters and RSVP home this week and they will be due back to the school no later than Monday, November 19th. Please be sure to include the names of any grandparents that will attend on the form. Any person not included on the form or on the blue authorization card at the school, will not be permitted to have lunch with our students per the new county lunch policy. Also, please remind all persons planning to attend to bring their driver’s license. Visitors that do not have driver’s licenses will not be able to enter the building.

Lastly, please send in canned goods to support Ward in feeding families in our communities this week. Your donations will help to make a difference. Classes that reach their goal will be able to participate in our Turkey Trot next Monday, November 19th.

Thank you for your support families and have a great week!

Sincerely,

Ms. Chatman

As a reminder, we will have our November Coffee with the Principal tomorrow morning from 7:45 a.m.-8:15: a.m. in the school library. Additionally, parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tuesday, November 6th, is a student holiday and school will be closed. We will reopen on Wednesday, November 7th.

Our first graders will be going on their field trip to Meadow Farms this Thursday, November 8th.

We invite all of our parents to attend our 2nd SFEC event this year on Thursday, November 8th, from 5:30-6:00. Lastly, parents, you may have received the Ward spirit shirt last week. They were found to be defective-the imprint fades/comes off and may damage other clothing. New shirts have been ordered and will be delivered to the school on Friday, November 9th. You do not need to send the original shirt back. The new shirts will be sent home with your child during the week of November 12th. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
